    Good stuff, I love particularly the first one – the textures add some fine graphic detail to an otherwise quite simple figure and the use of just a few textures with a tint to create an illusion of a landscape is ingenious.

    I like the space that is achieved in the second one with very simple measures. These are not easy to master as one might suspect.

    Thank you for your kind comments and careful observations, Matt! So many of those rolled inks end up reminding me of sumi-e landscapes. Seemed like the perfect backdrop for this kind of character. I’m glad the lighting effects succeed in creating that depth in the second one.
