Kaiju Book: Some Pages

Some very kind people have asked how they can see more of the self-published book of my Kaiju series.
Here are four to start:

Kaiju Book: Delivered!

A couple of weeks back I mentioned that I was putting together a book of my Kaiju work.
Delivery day finally arrived, and I don’t mind admitting that I was very excited.

Kaiju: Photobook Work In Progress

I have been editing and compiling my Kaiju pieces into one collection, and have just sent them off to be published in a photo-book .

Kaiju: T-28 Red Belt

I scanned some ink and paper textures and added vector masks in Photoshop. This is a warm-up piece for what I plan to do during the upcoming Thirty Days Project in November.

Kaiju: Red King Pixels

A digital sketch in preparation for the watercolour piece, below, that went into last month’s show.

Eleking on Wood

Eleking On Wood Acrylic, stained wood. Approximately 15cm x 15cm.   The found material (wood) had a great texture and I loved the ragged edge. I worked the white acrylic up in layers, using thicker and thinner areas for some depth.

Blue and Orange Spray

Four originals done with brush, pencil and toothbrush. Three of them are in the show at Kafka’s until November 1. One more added here as a bonus for my blog readers. Anchimata Blue Orange Spray Pencil, ink. 23×30.5 cm

Kafka Show: Opening Reception

A great crowd of really good people came out to the opening reception on Friday night. Tim Gerwing played his music from Thirty Days Project and Aya prepared a table full of amazing catering.

Kaiju: Gatanozoa Propaganda

Thinking here about World War Two propaganda posters and their scare techniques. Digital 60 x 84.5 cm

Kaiju: Pigman Pixels

This is a preparation for my largest piece in our upcoming show; Pigman pixellated. I finished the real version last week, in acrylics on a huge wooden panel. Digital 60 x 84.5 cm

Show at Kafka’s in Vancouver

Aya and I will be having a  joint show at Kafka’s Coffee & Tea from September 16 until November 1, 2011. Aya’s pieces are all sumi-e ink paintings from or based on the last Thirty Days Project. Mine are selected Thirty Days Project pieces with many new additions and some prints from my Kaiju […]

Kaiju: T-28

Tetsujin T-28 in soft blue pastels. Digital 60 x 84.5 cm
